RCFE Administrator Certification

The Initial Certification Traing Program for Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) is an 80-hour live stream course that prepares the participant for the state of California's administrator certification exam. This course focuses on Title 22 and the topics listed in the Core of Knowledge. It also includes review sessions, practice assessments, and test-taking strategies to help the participant successfully pass the exam. This interactive course provides the participant an opportunity to work with simulation exercises and hands-on activities to prepare for the role of an administrator in the real world.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the RCFE ICTP course, the participants will gain knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

Regulatory requirements to successfully operate an RCFE

Special considerations on the provision of dementia and hospice care

Medication management

Resident admission, retention and assessment procedures

Resident advocacy for residents rights

Community resources available for the elderly

Building requirements for state fire regulations

Staffing requirements for adequate supervision of residents

Cultural competency and sensitivity to aging LGBTQ community
